TalkBeds is an independent US review site dedicated to one deceptively simple question: which bed will actually help you sleep better? Since 2019, we’ve been buying, unboxing, sleeping on, and pulling apart mattresses, bed frames, and bunk beds so you don’t have to gamble your money and your nights on marketing copy. We’re a small, focused team of testers, editors, and researchers who care more about whether a mattress holds up after six months than whether it photographs well.
Our mission
Our mission is to make bed shopping honest and understandable. The sleep industry is crowded with paid “best of” lists, recycled spec sheets, and claims that fall apart under scrutiny. We exist to cut through that. Every recommendation on TalkBeds is meant to answer a real person’s question: is this comfortable, will it support my body, will it last, and is it worth the price? We write for side sleepers with shoulder pain, parents shopping for their kids’ first bunk bed, couples who disagree about firmness, and anyone who has ever woken up sore and wondered if their mattress was the problem.
Our story
TalkBeds started in 2019 as a handful of long, obsessive reviews written after too many bad mattress purchases. What began as one tester’s spare bedroom filled with boxed foam has grown into a structured, repeatable review operation. Over the years we’ve tested hundreds of products across foam, hybrid, innerspring, and cooling categories, and we’ve refined a testing process we now publish openly. You can read the full breakdown on our How We Test page.
Our values
- Reader-first, always. If a product isn’t good, we say so, even when it’s popular.
- Show our work. We explain how we reached a verdict and who a bed is right for, not just a star rating.
- Specifics over hype. We prefer measured pressure relief, edge support, and real durability notes to vague adjectives.
- Accuracy is non-negotiable. Health-related claims are fact-checked against reputable sources like the Sleep Foundation and the CDC.
How we’re funded
TalkBeds is free to read and funded primarily through affiliate commissions. When you buy a product through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes our verdicts, our rankings, or the order in which products appear. We choose what to feature based on testing and merit, not on which program pays the most. For the full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure, and to understand the wall we keep between revenue and reviews, read our Editorial Policy.
